OPUNAKE PUBLIC BODIES.

(To the Editor). Sir, —Surely Mr. Tosland and others are not taking seriously Mr. Sheat’s remarks about harbour and power board matters. Mr. Sheat’s past efforts in public life should prove that he has always been “agin the Government” and his insinuations against members, every bit :as able as himself in public matters, cannot be regarded seriously by those who know members personally. Is it likely that. the present board members have been and are deliberately deceiving their fellow-ratepayers, and are misconducting themselves with other people’s money? If we take a survey of power board members we find men with excellent, records, both privately and pub'lihiy, and' yet we are risked to believe that they are of very doubtful colour. Thgy have all, I think, made a success of their private businesses, and they‘ should therefore be well qualified as a board to carry on, and it is to bo that , Mr. Sheat’s efforts to stjr v up/ 'strife' between them will not meet with success.—4 am, etc., /mW--•? NOT A WET. SHEET.
