France won tho 160 yards, Avergno covering the distance in 9 4-5 sec. The mile was won by Ladounmrgue. The long jump was won by' Barbier (2Soin), the high jump by Menard (75in), the pole jump by Pramadier (153 in the weight putting by Noel (547 in the discus by Noel (17381 in France secured places in the discus, long jump, first and second high jump, and weight putting. England won the 220 yards (Englehart in 21 4-asec), quarter mile (Brangwin in 50 4-ssec), half mile (Hampson in 113 4-ssoc), two miles steeplechase (Bailey in 655 3-5 sec), three miles (Winfield in 14min 57 2-ssec), 120yds hurdles (Lord Burghley in 14 9-10 see, and mile relay.
