The annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Hunt Club was held to-day in fine, but threatening, weather. The fields, especially in the jumpers’ events, were small, due largely to the fact that few outside horses were present. In former years tho Hunt Club meeting was always held one week after the Gisborne Racing Club's steeplechase meeting, but this year owing to the visit of the British Rugby team the Gisborne .Racing . Club’s meeting was . advanced one week, and visiting owners could not see their way clear to keep their horses here a fortnight for the Hunt Club meeting.
