FATAL MOTORING COLLISION
MAY NOT DRIVE FOR FIVE YEARS. PALMERSTON NORTH -SENTENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Aug, 1. A sentence of four months’ imprisonment and the cancellation of his driv-c.-’s license for five years was imposed on John Joseph Evans, a farm hand, aged 22, in the Supreme Court when he was found guilty of a charge that while in a state of intoxication he was in .charge of a car, and by act of omission did clause bodily injury to Alfred Hickey. The case was the sequel to an accident on Mt. Stewart, when Evans’ car collided with Hickey’s motor-cycle, Hickey subsequently dying.
