FIREMEN REFUSE TO WORK

Steam Ship Company to reinstate dismissed firemen, the remaining firemen on the Moeraki refused to take the vessel to sea at noon to-day, and her departure for Fiji has been postponed until tomorrow. The industrial registrar is trying to effect a settlement, but the men’s union is not sanghine.
