MILDER, FINE WEATHER.

The weather mainly will be fair to fine but there will be some scattered misty showers on the east coast north of Cook Strait and later in the far north and in Foveanx Strait, Temperatures will be milder. An anti-cyclone etill covers New Zealand. A new cyclone has developed west of Norfolk Island and a rather deep depression is covering eouth-eastern Australia. Winds will be moderate southerly to south-easterly north of Westport and Kaikoura, backing to east and north-east and freshening in the far north. Elsewhere, there will be moderate but freshening northerly winds. There will be a considerable swell beaten Kaikoura and Ea<st Cape, but the sea elsewhere will be smooth to moderate.
