ARARATA COMPANY’S MEETING.
MANUFACTURING COST REDUCED. At the annual meeting of the Ararata Co-operative Dairy. Company, held at. Hawera on Thursday, Mr. T. A. Winks presided over a fair attendance of shareholders. The Press was hot admitted to the meeting. • ■ . ••• Prior to.the regular business Mr. E, M. Bardsley gave an addrecs on. the advantages of herd-testing. The chairman stated that results owin« to prices receding were somewhat disappointing, but thjs was due to the general downward trend of all commodities. The factory anil plant had been kept up to a full" standard of efficiency and it was pleasing to note that manufacturiiKr costs had been reduced despite a ’slightly smaller output. The chairman touched on the endeavour beinjv made to improve the quality of •cheese by a voluntary levy and the payment of a premium on grade. After a brief discussion the motion for the adoption of the report was carried. ... As there wore no other nomm#cions the retiring directors, Messrs. R. Buckley and J.’Grant, were re-elected. Messrs. Lennon and Tristram were reappointed auditors. , Votes of thanks were accorded the secretary, ‘ manager and staff.
