A great mass congress of Eastern Women. which was attended by delegates from every Moslem country, has concluded - after a week’s discussion, It represents the first concerted move to escape from the bondage of Islamic customs. The most outstanding decision was. .for the abolition of the veil, allowing women to appear ba.yefaco<l bi the streets.
Other decisions were that a brides groom and bride should be permitted tq see each other before marriage, the regqlqvisation of divorce, making it possible for a wife as well as a husband, and that IS be the legal minimum, age for marriage. *
