MOTUROA RATEPAYERS

PIOiSBEII ROAD TRAM SHELTJBB. A meeting of the Moturoa Ratepayers’ Association was held last evening, Mr. R. Glengarry presiding. It was decided to approach the New Plymouth Borough Council again With regard to the state of Pioneer Road. The proprietor of a garage near the corner of Main South Road and Breakwater Road offered to keep the vacant corner in order if the council would flrat clean it. The association decided to place the matter before tho council. Tho question of boarding or glassing in a portion of the tram shelter at Pioneer Road was discussed. At present it is open to the wind, and for anyone sitting there decidedly unpleasant on windy, wet days. The council’s attention is to be drawn to the position. The council notified the association that the street lighting committee had approved the new lights suggested by the association and authorised several other lights not mentioned by tho association. These included a new light at Calvert Road and the removal of tl light at the intersection of Calvert Road North and Whiteley Street to the intersection of Kingswell Street. A new light between the end of Bonithon Avenue and St. Aubyn Street also had been authorised. > MOTUROA DOMAIN COMMITTEE. IMPROVEMENT TO BE DISCUSSED. A meeting of the Moturoa Domain Committee was held last evening in Mission Hall, Mr. R. Glengarry presiding. There were also present Messrs. R. Scott, D. Keenan, H. Sanders, J. Honeyfield, F. Healy, W. Hunter and E. O’Dea (secretary). It was decided to call a public meeting of those interested in improvement to the domain at the first convenient date,; and that,, the help of ladies be sought. The meeting decided ..to forward a letter of thanks to the New Plymouth
