Speaking on the Budget Mr. Yates, Labour member, denounced tho Commonwealth bondholders and protested against continued payment to them. “In another ten years,” ho said, “we shall have paid interest to bondholders equal to the full amount borrowed and we shall still be indebted to them for tho principal. We have paid £219,060,000 interest on the war debt. What I would do is ju.st what the bondholders have done to others—l would hand them back their securities and notes and say, ‘You will get no further interest.’ ”
