COASTAL MOVEMENTS. The Karepo, with 600 tons for New Plymouth, is due from Westport on Tuesday, and later proceeds to Auckland. The Himatangi, from southern ports, has been delayed and is due at Ney/ Plymouth to-morrow. She will sail later for Foxton. (Hooker Bros.) The Progress, from Dunedin, Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington, is due today at New Plymouth. Later she will leave for Port Waikato and southern ports. (Hooker Bros.) The John left Dunedin on Tuesday, and via Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington, is due : : at New Plymouth ’on Monday, later leaving for Port Waikato. (Hooker Bros.) The Rata was delayed in her loading at Greymouth yesterday. She has 800 tons of coal and 335 telegraph poles for New Plymouth. She will later proceed to Westport. The Hauturu arrived at New Plymouth yesterday afternoon from Onehunga with 120 tons and was scheduled to leave for the northern port at 11 o’clock last night with 10 tons. (Northern Co.) GABRIELLA AT NEW PLYMOUTH. The Gabriella; arrived at New Plymouth last night from Sydney aihd Newcastle with 554 tons' of coal and 92 tons of 'general cargo. She proceeds later to Wanganui. "■ r ARGYLLSHIRE LEAVES MONDAY. The Argyllshire, at present loading 12,000 freight carcases of meat and discharging 2000 tons of cargo to the agency of the Union Steam Ship Co., will leave New Plymouth on Monday to load at Wanganui, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, Tokomaru Bay and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on August 7, and is scheduled to sail finally from Auckland on August 23 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow, via the Panama Canal. WESTMORELAND SAILS. The Federal steamer Westmoreland was dispatched from Wellington on Wednesday for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow, via the Panama Canal. The vessel has 12,500 freight earcases of meat, 8311 boxes of butter and 7134 crates of cheese loaded at New Plymouth during the last week in June. TOTARA FOR SURVEY. The Totara, which arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from New Plymouth, will lay up for survey. KIWITEA DELAYED. The Union Company’s steamer Kiwitea, which has been delayed by bad weather, will arrive at Auckland from Melbourne at two o’clock this morning, according to her latest wireless advice. The vessel has general cargo and produce from Adelaide, Edithburg, Wallaroo and Melbourne for discharge at Auckland, Portland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton and Timaru. The vessel was due at New Plymouth on Saturday, but it is probable she will not arrive until next week, v?hen she will discharge 221 tons. REMUERA CLEARED SUVA. After unloading cargo'for Fiji, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Remuera cleared Suva at five o’clock on Wednesday in continuation of ’ her voyage: from London, and Southampton. The vessel is due at Wellington on Monday to land passengers for New Zealand. Afterwards she will unload the remainder of her cargo at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. Captain H. J. Wilde is in command of the vessel, and Dr. E. G. Wood is the medical officer on board. She is due a 4 New Plymouth on August 9. NEW ■ MISSION SCHOONER. The new schooner for the London Mission Society, John Williams V., was launched at Grangemouth, Scotland, on May 1 in the presence of a large crowd. A meeting was held previous to the launching and among, the speakers was Dr. Donald Fraser, wlio told how in his childhood the story of John Williams 1 moved him, and if he had had his way he would have gone te the New Hebrides. After the meeting the crowd, accompanied by pipers, marched to the dockyard. The christening ceremony was performed by Lady Carmichael, who. with a prayer for the welfare of the ship, swung the bottle of coconut milk o.i to the bows. Sir James Carmichael spoke with great admiration of John Williams, who had gifted hands, as well , as a great heart and soul. Sir James < showed his interest in the new ship by , a gift of £lOOO.
