COAL BILL AMENDMENTS
HOUSE ACCEPTS MOTION
RIGHTS OF THE INDUSTRY SAFEGUARDS PROVIDED By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7 p.m. London, July 22. The House of Commons agreed without a division to Mr. W. Graham’s motion accepting the House of Lords’ amendments to the Coal Bill, subject to the condition that district spread over arrangements must have the approval of the Mining Association of Britain and the Miners’ Federation. Sir P. Cunliffe-Lister on behalf of the Opposition accepted the condition. Sir Herbert Samuel said he hoped the arrangement was a good augury for the future settlement of coal controversies.
