COLD WEATHER IMPROVING.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be mainly fine in western districts and the interior of the South Island. Elsewhere it will be still unsettled with further showers, heavy in the Hawke’s Bay to Bay of Plenty districts but improving slowly. Temperatures will be cold. The cyclone is now centred north of East Cape. An anti-cyclone is moving across the Tasman Sea. There will be winds moderate to strong 'generally, but reaching gale force at times in places from Cook Strait northwards. Seas will be rough on all the cast coast and north of Farewell Spit.
