TIMARU RUGBY CONTROVERSY
DEFINITE CHARGES REQUESTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ashburton, July 22. The Rugby Union has decided .to write to the New Zealand Union, taking the strongest exception to remarks made by the president, Dr. Adams, in reference to the Timaru match, and that Dr. Adams, in justice to the local players, be asked to make definite charges against the players and be prepared, either to substantiate them or unreservedly to withdraw them. The union desired to know where Dr. Adams obtained the information that certain Ashburton players should not havei been allowed to take part in the match.
