DINNER FOR MR. G. W. FORBES
MEMBERS OF OLD RUGBY TEAM. (By Wire —Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. When the Prime Minister, the Hon. G. AV. Forbes, next visits Auckland he will be tendered a complimentary dinner by six members of the Rugby team of which he was captain 40 years ago. Mr. Forbes captained the East Christchurch senior team in 1890, and six of his old team mates have since drifted to Auckland. Included in the six are Mr. J. Kearney (assistant postmaster), Mr. Hammond (sergeant of police in Auckland ujitil his recent retirement), Air. A. B. Thomson (who is at. present in Canada on holiday), and'Mr. J. Spring.
