Mrs. Harris spent many years in Hawera, and was married in England. She leaves four daughters, and her only’ brother is Mr. Stanley Cook, Lower Hutt, Wellington. Miss E. Andrews, who is to leave by the Niagara on July 29 to represent New Zealand women teachers at the Pan-Pacific conference at Honolulu, was last night presented with a travelling cushion by members of the New Zeeland Educational Institute. In making the presentation at th® farewell gathering for Mr. . Griffin Mr. J. E. Shimmon said Miss Andrews had the confidence of both the men and women in the profession. .She had done much -to raise the level of ordinary school practice. It was hoped that on her return to New Zealand she would place the Taranaki teachers first on her itinerary ot addresses. Mr. M. Goldsbury also paid a tribute to Miss Andrews.
