KINGSFORD SMITH'S MISHAP
FORCED DOWN IN SMALL BIPLANE

Kingsford Smith and Saul were uninsured when a small biplane in which they were flying here from Santa Maria was forced down from a height of 3700 feet by a broken magneto shaft. Kingsford Smith landed safely in a farmers field.
