DOMINION GOLF TITLES

PALMERSTON N. TOURNAMENT.

GOLF COUNCIL’S ARRANGEMENTS.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.

Wellington, July 16.

The Golf Council at its monthly meeting finalised the championship arrangements for the Dominion tournament at Palmerston North. Sixteen players are to be qualified this year for the professional championship, and consequently their final will be played on the Saturday as well as the amateur final,

The council decided to cease the practice of issuing national handicap certificates. Club secretaries will be required to certify on each entry that the club is handicapping to the standard scratch score.

In connection with the teams’ match for the O’Rorke Vase' it was made a condition that a country member of a clue can play only in the event of the club having less than four full members in the qualifying rounds of the amateur championship.
