BANK MANAGER PROMOTED. (From Our Own Correspondent). Mr. C. C. W. Haselden, manager of the local branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has received notice of transfer to Stratford in the capacity of manager. During his period of residence in Inglewood Mr. Haselden has become a most popular figure, and he, with his wife and family, will be very much missed. His place will be taken by Mr. Alfred. Grant, who is an old Inglewood boy an.d a brother of Mr. Tan Grant. INGLEWOOD WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. The monthly meeting of the Inglewood Women’s Institute was held on Wednesday in the Methodist Hall. Mrs. Burgess presided ovei* an excellent attendance. After the usual business had been transacted Mrs. Burgess announced that owing to sickness Mrs. Barrack would be unable to give her demonstration of rag rug making. Mrs. Burgess and Mrs. Kaye gave a very interesting demonstration of raffia slippers and doll making. Some very interesting “old treasures” were brought by members for inspection. A delicious afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Mesdames Feaver and Leech. While this was in progress Mrs. Burgess welcomed five new members. Mrs. Kirkley was appointed delegate to the Dominion conference of New Zealand Women’s Institutes, which is to be held at Wellington during October.
