DEDICATION FESTIVAL SERVIdfiS.
The dedication festival of Holy Trinity Church,.- Fitzroy, was held over, the week-end. A social was held in the hall on Saturday night, and all the services yesterday were largely attended. The hall was filled with parishioners for the social, which the Ven. Archdeacon G. H. Gavin attended. The chief’ item of interest in the very enjoyable programme was a short lecture by Mr. W. H. Skinner on the history of the church and the’district. . ■ 7
The ladies’ guild provided a delightful supper. Much-appreciated contributions to the entertainment were made by Miss Feafn, Mrs. Wilkes, Miss Stafford, Miss Jennings, Mr. Joll and Mr. R. Day. Four services were held at the church yesterday. At the 11 a.m. and the 7 p.m. services the church was filled. Archdeacon F. G. Evans preached an inspiring sermon in the morning, and in the evening the Archdeacon of Taranaki gave a sermon that will be long remembered for its hopefulness in these days., Large numbers attended the service at 8 a.m., and the children’s service at 4 p.m. Many were the commentson the beaut/ of the decorations,, the. singing of the choir and ; the general vitality of the church- •. . ...
