A Leipsiz bank messenger carrying £750 was held up by three men who shot him in the stomach, snatched the money and rushed away in a car, threading, skilfully through the traffic pursued by fire brigade, ambulance and private cars and later by the police. The thieves fired recklessly at the pur. suers and shot a workman. Their own car was eventually damaged. Then they transferred to a tram-car, took control and drove in a frenzied manner but finally abandoned the tram-car and disappeared,
