CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
INGLESIDE ARRANGEMENTS. The executive of the .New Plymouth Caledonian Society met on Wednesday evening. The Chief :(Dr. D. E. Brown) presided over Messrs. A. M. Mac* Diarmid, W. Jones, A. Rankin, J. F, Andrews, and J. J. Cerkill (hon. secretary). - The chief .reported on the meeting of ‘’’tlie Taranaki Provincial Caledonian Sports Association, -at which delegates expressed the opinion that the financial result of the recent sports gathering held in New Plymouth was more satisfactory than was at first expected. Ho explained that all affiliated societies would be called on to help meet the deficit, and the meeting decided to pay .the'society’s quota. ■ Applications for country inglesideS were received from several localities, and the following tentative dates were suggested; Lepperton, June 20; New Plymouth, July 7; Hurw'orth. July lOj Hillsborough, July 23; New Plymouth, July 28; Tataraimaka, August 0; Tikorangi, August 13; New Plymouth, August*2s; Westown, September 3. A decision regarding the applications from the Clifton Rowing Club, the Seaside Improvement Committee (Waitara), and St. John’s Church was left till the next meeting of the executive.
