The Herald says it ia considered probable in political circles that the appointment of the new Governor-GeneiaL will be deferred, at the request of the' Prime Minister, Mr. J. H. Scullin, until, ho arrives in London at the of September to confer with the Dominions Office., It is understood that Lord Stonehaven has made arrangements to leave Australia on October 2. To fill the gap of about six months between the de-, parture of Lord Stonehaven and the arrival of the new Governor-General, it is stated that the Governor of Victoria,. Lord Somers, will most probably be sworn in as Governor-General.
