After taking part in the aerial pageant at Taree five planes left for Sydney. Two arrived safely, and one was forced down along the route, over which strong winds prevailed. The other two planes were reported missing, but arrived safely at Taree, the pilots returning owing to the heavy weather. Two smashes are reported from Victoria. A plane, piloted by John Charle»on, carrying his sister as passenger, was wrecked at Smeaton. The girl was killed and her brother seriously injured. Mrs. Hinkle was severely injured when the glider she piloted fell suddenly and overturned.

News has been received from Bulolo, New Guinea, that a native runner arrived there with a report from the relief party, stating that the airmen, Thomson and McMurtie, whose smashed plane was found abandoned at the beginning of this month, are safe. They are expected to arrive at Wau within a few. days. Apparently both are uninjured.
