POSITION OF SOCCER TEAMS
JULIAN CUP COMPETITION. The respective positions of the Association xfootball teams in the Julian Cup competition is as follows:—
Caledonians have two more games to play against Pirates and Celtic. The Celtic match to be played at Hawera will provide a great battle for the cup. The Caledonians will have the assistance of their clever centre forward, Peter’Gardener, who is returning from Wellington this week. Caledonians are unfortunate in losing two good players and sportsmen in Campbell and Griffin, who left yesterday for Wanganui and Christchurch respectively. The team all had tea together after the match with Stratford on Saturday,\ and the chairman, Mr. Muiseen, took the opportunity' to farewell these players on behalf of the club, and expressed regret at losing them. Both players in reply eaid that no one felt it more than they did in having to leave the club.
