SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. i ' . (From Our Own Correspondent). The third fortnightly euchre party of the season was held in the Kaimata hall on Tuesday night. Eighteen tables were occupied. The winners at euchre were:—Mrs. Len. Dobson 1, Miss Ida Herlihy 2, after playing off with Mrs. Jones; Mr. N. Bracegirdle 1, Mr. J. Moratti 2; Miss Jones and Mr. R. Marshall, consolation. The guessing competition was won by Mrs. Moratti, senr. On Friday after school was out Master Freddy Gibbons was run over by a car, but as luck would have it he was not hurt. Mr. and Mrs. David Herlihy, junr., Taumarunui, are on a visit to Mr. W. Herlihy, Kaimata. The pig hunters from Kaimata bagged 16 wild pigs-last Sunday. Mrs. Burwell had the misfortune to scald her foot and had to have medical aid, ’ Mrs. Morratti) senr., who was leaving for. Ijtaly. this ■ month, has had to postpone her trip on account of having injured her ’foot. Miss M.' Herlihy is now home from hospital. Mr. Jim Mackie, Auckland, is on a visit to his parents, Mr, and Mrs. G. Mackie, Kaimata. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burwell are visiting Kaimata. Miss D. Haylock is the guest of Mrs. England. Mr. and Mrs. Haylock, Onaero, spent the last week-end at Kaimata. Miss Burkchardt has returned home after having spent some weeks with her brother at Thames. Mrs. N. Bracegirdle has returned home with her baby son/ Mrs. Gibbons is expected at home this week with her new daughter. Mrs. H. Salisbury has returned after spending a week at Stratford. Miss Marjorie Tippins spent the weekend at Whangamomona. Mr. George Scott, herd tester, has finished testing for this season and is spending a few days with his brother at Ngaire.
