MR. RANSOM’S PREDICTION CABINET’S FEARLESS POLICY. TARTY FORTUNES DISREGARDED. By Telegraph.--Pr.ess Association. .- Masterton, Juno 7. Some interesting observations on general politics were made by th-o . Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands,. in .acknowledging a welcome., given him today. The Minister said he did not think a minority Government was badly placed, to deal with the serious financial arid other problems now raised. It must bring down , sound legislative proposals .because it could not hope otherwise to get the support of a majority in the House. Extra taxation was inevitable. Cabinet would bring down the proposals it considered to be demanded in, the. interests of the country . regardless of the ■ effect on the fortunes of its own party. : The Minister said that the present
unemployment relief works were opening up new areas for settlement and that more could be done on these lines. The permanent remedy for unemployment was to bring idle or partly used .„ lands into full use and occupation.
