INSURANCE OF MACHINES
DOMINION AERO CLUB FORMED. TARANAKI MEN AS OFFICERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, June 7. The conference of aero clubs to-day discussed the formation of a New Zealand Aero Club. It was decided to refer to the incoming committee the whole question of insurance. It was stated that the insurance companies had declined to consider any form of insurance for machines, but the view was expressed that they might be prepared to do business with a New Zealand body.-
Wing-Commander Grant-Dalton, Director of Air Services, made a statement regarding the” Government and repair work. The Government had never had the intention of' repiiirihg all machines. Where negligence’had not been proved, ho said, he had had machines repaired, but that was his mistake and had nothing to do with the Government. The chairman, Mr. Hislop (Wellington), amid applause, said he was sure that all clubs appreciated what Mr. Grant-Dalton had done in the interests of aviation. / :
