GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S VISIT
CHANGES AT NEW PLYMOUTH. DOCTORS ADVISE CURTAILMENT. A elight curtailment of the GovernorGeneral’s programme in New Plymouth has been arranged because of His Excellency’s ill-health. The Mayor of New Plymouth, Mr. H. Victor S. Griffiths, has received a telegram that the Governor-General, who has been confined to bed for some days with influenza, has been advised by his doctors to cancel or curtail future engagements.- His Excellency has nevertheless decided to visit New Plymouth as arranged, but suggested that the motor drive at 9.30 p.m. on Friday should be eliminated and that the visit to the hospital on Friday afternoon should be made by Lady Bledisloe only.
