' ANGLICANS’ EUCHRE PARTY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) There .was a good attendance, at the opening euchre party and ping-pong tournament in the Kaponga Parish Hall on Thursday evening under the auspices of the Anglican Church vestry and ladies’ guild. Thirty-two players took part in the euchre tourney, in which ten games were played under the control of Mr. S. Death. Meantime those not playing cards enjoyed themselves at the ping-pong table. At the conclusion of the tourney supper was served by Mesdames J. P. Gibson, F. W. Fallows, R. M. Arnold, T. T. Jones, J. H. Tyack, and several younger helpers. After supper the floor, was cleared for dancing. Music was supplied, by Mrs. I. Evans and the master of ceremonies was Mr. S. Death. The euchre prizes were won by Miss I. Melville and Mr. S. I. Sadler. The ping-pong competitions resulted in victory for Mrs, J. P. Gibson and Mr. Harold Gardner (Riverlea). Mr. Moron’ senr., Wellington, is visiting .Kaponga. Mr. C. N. Gordge-left last week on a fortnight’s holiday visit io Auckland. ■Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Hammersley, Kuri Street, left on Thursday on. a visit to the Wellington and east coast districts. Mr. H. Mills' left on • Thursday on a health-recruiting motor tour of the North Island.
