PIGEON FLYING
ANNUAL WINTER SHOW RACE. The annual pigeon race (flown in connection with the winter show) from Palmerston North, a distance of' 127 miles, was held last week-end. Eleven entries were received by the poultry committee from members of the New Plymouth and Egmont Homing Chibs. The conditions of the race were that each participant had to nominate two birds for the event, and the pair were to be liberated together with intervals of 15 minutes’ duration between each liberation. Mr, E. P. Jackson, of Palmerston North, was liberator, and got the birds away well. The weather was against fast times being recorded. The race resulted as follows: — J.
