GAOL FOR OBSCENE ACT
NEED FOR POLICE PROTECTION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, June 0. On the very day that Mr. '■Justice Herdman called attention to the need of better police protection for women and children in the city domains and parks, Gerald Ernest Allen, labourer, aged 30, was arrested and charged with obscene exposure. The Chief Detective told tho magistrate he was satisfied that Allen had - been the cause of numerous complaints from women. He was sentenced to six months in gaol and two years* reformative detention. '
