M'iSS CLIFFORD’S AMBITION
ENGLAND, AUSTRALIA AND BACK.
GOING TO ENGLAND TO PREPARE.
Bj Tekgranb.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Plans for a solo aeroplane flight from England to Australia and to England are being made by Miss Aroha Clifford, the Christchurch lady pilot. Miss Clifford is going Home with her father, Mr. W. L. Clifford,, leaving New Zealand In the Rangitane on July 19. On arrival she will endeavour to obtain a ground engineer’s ticket at some big , aeroplane works in Britain. She intends to do a good deal of flying, and will also fly on the Continent, preparing herself for the big adventure. Miss Cliffprd: admits she still- has to Obtain her father’d consent before she can make the attempt. She. is by far the most experienced woman pilot in New Zealand, having hacD 120 hours’ flymg r >re than Miss Amy Johnson had had before setting out.
