BOOKMAKER CONFESSES

FINE OF £lOO IMPOSED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Arrested this morning, Thomas William Leece, of Eden Terrace, was charged before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court with keeping a common gaming house. He was also described as a bookmaker. Leece pleaded guilty.. Chief Detective Hammond said accused had one previous conviction, entered in July of last year, Leece was fined £l9O, with the alternative of t’ rce months in gaol, and was allow 1 48 hours to pay.
