GENERAL ITEMS. A very large attendance was present at St. Barnabas’ Church on Sunday evening, when the Bishop of Wellington conducted- the service. About 20 boys and girls were confirmed by the bishopThe euchre party in the. Parish Hall wan well attended. The men’s prize was won by Mr’ A. Baylis and the ladies’ prize by Mrs. F. Des Forges. The euchre party in St. Patrick’s Hall resulted: Ladies’ first prize, Mrs. E. A. Poole; second, Mrs. D. Ross; consolation, Mrs. G. Harrop; men’s first, Mr. A. Twohill, second 1 Mr, W. Walsh; consolation,. Mr. Victor Butterini. Mrs. Shepherd and Miss O’Sullivan will represent the Opunake branch of the Women’s Divsio.n of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union at the Dominion conference in June. The mixed foursome handicap played on the golf links during the week-end resulted: D. Fraser and Mrs. Fraser 44—9—35; R. B. Fleming and Miss Julian 46 — G. Boyle and Miss Hotter 46—8—38; W 0. Webby and Miss Trotter 51 —10—41; F. Julian and Miss Lewis 46 —5 —41.
