The croquet chib’s first euchre party for the season took place in the bowling club’s pavilion on Thursday afternoon, when an enjoyable time was spent Eight tables were occupied. The winners were Mesdames St. George and Parker (a tie for first), the hidden number prize going to Miss Lusk.

The Waitara Tennis Club held its annual ball on Thursday evening, and it proved as popular as in previous years. The 80 couples present had an enjoyable evening to dance music played by Boulton's dance band. The door receipts were about £25, During the evening the club’s president, Mr.. W. Middleton, availed himself o-f the opportunity .of presenting: .the-,; Dr,-: Alison chainpionsliip cups won by Miss V. Lbuis and Mr. L. Sole. He referred to ; the excellency of their games. He also drew attention to the Soffe Cup (which was on view), pointing out the fact that the Waitara Club was still in possession o-f it. ~ The annual meeting of the North Taranaki Card Association was held on Saturday ' last, delegates being present from all the clubs concerned.
