STANDISH CUP COMPETITION COMPLETION OF SECOND ROUND. PLAY ON NEW PLYMOUTH LINKS. ■ Again perfect weather favoured golfers on Saturday when the second round of the Standish’Cup competition was played dn the links at Waiwakaiho. The course was in splendid order and the scoring was good. The result leaves H. Williams leading the field by one stroke from J. M. Hine,' with J. McNeill and K. Tompkins close. The niedal rounds played in conjunction with this competition were ’won in the senior division by J. McNeill with the very fine card of 81— 12—69, while among the juniors H. W. Martin and K. ' INTER-CLUB MATCH. NEW PLYMOUTH BEATS ELTHAM. During the week-end a strong team from the Eltham club visited New Plymouth and played an all day match. The games were extremely well contested and at lunch tin e each side had won four and two had been halved. In' the afternoon, however, the New Plymouth players were too good, winning eight of the ten matches.
