JERSEY CATTLE CLUB MEETS
SHOW ARRANGED BEFORE SALE.
A meeting of. the committee of the New Plymouth Jersey Gattie Club was held in New Plymouth yesterday. Present: Messrs. C. H. Sampson (chairman), J. S. Jones, G. H. Bell, E. W. B. Griffiths and A. J. Lux ton.
Donations had been promised for prizes if -a small show was held on. the morning of the sale' on June 14, said Mr. Luxton.
Mr. Griffiths favoured holding a sale. It would be of benefit to buyers to have the animals paraded. A show would be a very good thing as long as it was kept up to time, said Mr. Bell. It was a big sale with a catalogue of 85 animals and the show
should not be allowed to take up more than half an hour or so. The show might be started at IO o’clock. A show was helpful to everybody, said Mr. Griffiths. They could study the animals better in the ring than in the pens. A huge crowd had watched the show before the national' bull sale in Hawera, said Mr; Jones. .
It was decided to hold a show of the animals at 10 a.m. on the morning of“ the sale, with two classes, one for two-year-olds and the other for younger cattle. Prizes of one a a-half guineas for first and half a. guinea for second are to be given in each class. Mr. F. W. Coro wall -was appointed judge.
