GATHERING AT MANAIA.

A large and representative gathering of members and friends of the Manchester Unity 1.0.0. F. was held at Manaia on Thursday, when the lodge hall was filled to. capacity. Bro. Sherson presided. The ritual competition which was held for branches of the Manchester Unity during ’ 1 uary and March was won by the Manaia lodge, the function being the means for members and friends to witness the presentation of the pup which was competed :for the -first time

this year. Bros. Marr and Bollon, past district grand master and deputy G.M., spoke very highly of the work done and the status attained by the Manaia Lodge. They .ongratulated the winners on their victory an' hoped that they would have a hard fight to defend the trophy in the next competition. Bro. Bollon said he woul like to take the opportunity of congratulating Sister Johnson, 1.P.N.G., of the Loyal Excelsior Lodge, New Plymouth (runners-up), on her very creditable performance.
