NEW RECORD ESTABLISHED PERFORMANCE OF TODD LONZIA. CARMEL WINS BIG HANDICAP. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The Forbury Park Trotting Club’s winter meeting was opened to-day in bright sunshine and before a very large attendance for an “off” day. The track was in splendid order, making for exceptionally. fast times, and the racing was full of interest. The totalisator handled £23,002 life, as compared with £21,950 10a. on the first day last year. C. D. Hudson’s two-year-old colt Todd Lonzia established an Australian and New Zealand record of 2min. 22 l-ssec. for a mile for a two-year-old trotter.
