Mr. Snowden said ho was not in a position to make a comprehensive statement regarding the proposed action of the Government on the Palestine report, but with regard to one section of the report it had been decided to appoint a special officer to visit Palestine on a. temporary mission for the purpose of reporting in consultation with the High Commissioner on important questions of land settlement,. immigration and development. Sir John Hope Simpson, who had very high qualifications in the matter, had agreed to undertake this mission. Conversations w’ith an Arab delegation on various matters raised in thfe -report were proceeding. '' *■' '
