DEEP-SEA FISHING SPORT
’ WHANGAROA CLUB'S THRILLS. (By Wire—Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. The Whangaroa Swordfish Club’s season has closed and thrilling sport has been enjoyed. The most exciting adventure was that of A. Bowyer on the launch Di ne when a mako shark jumped aboard and played havoc with the fittings and cockpit before it was killed with a whale spade. The two largest fish caught were both black marlins which weighed 7301 b and 6081 b respectively. . . "The season's catch totalled 264 big fid), aggregating in weight nearly 30 tons. There were 16 black marlin, 100 striped marlin, 128 mako sharks. 7 hammerhead sharks and 4 thresher sharks.'
