The publisher of the Western Times, Bathurst, was fined £1 for publishing portions of a broadcasting programme without the consent of the station concerned. This ia the first case of its kind in Australia under the Wireless and Telegraph Act. The charge related to a Morefield race resilij. which the Telegraph Department ascertained was not transmitted by telephone and, therefore, must have been obtained from tho wireless.
