CHARGES OF BURGLARY
EVIDENCE AGAINST CAMPBELL.
Further evidence was given in New Plymouth yesterday against Robert Harvey Campbell, charged with breaking, entering and theft at Novy Plymouth and Stratford. The hearing was further adjourned till next. Tuesday. The arrest of Campbell in Wellington on April 17 was described by Detective F. W. Robinson. He said he went to Campbell's bach and collected certain property, including a fawn coat, a raincoat and a handkerchief marked “L.C.” and covered with red paint. Campbell, who was going under the name of Frank Kepuke, was wearing a pair of shoes and a cap, of which he took possession. He had a MorrisCowley car, in' which he said he camo to Wellington in the early hours of April 11. He hid certain documents relating to the purchase of the car and its registration. These were made out in the name of “F. Kepuke,” and included a receipt for £5O as a deposit on the car. This was signed “E.G.” Another paper was an account from E. Cawthray. New Plymouth, dated March. 1930. A letter and a telegram found on Campbell were addressed to “Sam Rio.” Campbell asked no questions.
