APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS.

Wellington, Last Night.
The following appointments to the General Council of Education are gazetted:—Mr. D. T. Fleming and Mr. E. H. Andrews, representing education boards of the South Island; Mr. J. E. Purchase, representing male public school teachers bf the South Island; Miss E. A. Chaplin, representing women public school teachers of the South Island; Mr. W. A. Armout, representing secondary and technical male teachers, and Miss N. E. Coad, representing secondary and technical women teachers. As the number of persons nominated in each instance did not exceed the number required, no election was necessary.
