1930 SHOOTING SEASON
SPORT COMMENCES TO-DAY. Throughout the week the shooting season’s prospects have been the topic of conversation, and adverse reports have been carefully weighed against the arguments of the more optimistic. Those whose fortune it is to shoot over private water have long put the finishing touches on “mi-mis” and not a few have “cast bread upon the waters.” Those who have not. been favoured with invitations from land owners have been casting envious eyes upon stray feathers on open land. ’ The sale of licenses was steady throughout the week, stragglers coming at the las' minute yesterday afternoon for the slip of paper which keeps them within the law.
