HISTORIC BEN LOMOND
DUKE COMPELLED TO SELL.
TAXATION BURDEN EXCESSIVE.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Roc. 7.35 p.m. London, April 30. Practically the whole'of Ben Lomond, including t'he peak and all the approaches from Loch Lomond, is about to be auctioned. The historic spot is part of the estate of the Duke of Montrose, who states that he is compelled owing to death duties and heavy taxation to part with lands which have been the heritage of the family for centuries.
