COST OF LIVING LOWER
SAVING ON N.S.W. BASIC WAGES.

Following the quarterly adjustment of the coat of living figures the basic wage level has fallen by from 3s a week for clothing trade employees and clerks to 5s fid for wharf labourers. The saving to the employers of New South Wales is estimated at about £500,000 a year, that of the railways alone amounting to £320,000.
