Mr. Reid, Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. Sutcliffe, Wanganui, and Mr. and Mrs. G. Wordsworth, Napier, are staying at the Criterion Hotel, New Plymouth. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloo, has advised that engagements prevent him accepting the Taranaki Agricultural Society’s invitation to be present at the forthcoming show, but that he will visit New Plymouth during show week.
Major-General Young, General Officer commanding the New Zealand Forces, visited New Plymouth yesterday for the Anzac Day celebrations. He will leave for Palmerston North this morning in order to attend the annual reunion of the Wellington Regiment. Mrs. Small, widow of the Rev. J. A. Small, Suva, died suddenly last night at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. R. B. -Gosnell,-Fitzroy. Mrs. Small was a missionary in Fiji for 51 years and was well-known also in Auckland. She was 75 years of age. Mrs. Small had been spending a holiday with Mr. and. Mrs. Gosnell and intended to return to Fiji next month.
