AMOUNTS TO FALSE RECEIPT
INSURANCE AGENTS’ COMMISSION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, February 6. “It seems very wrong, and amounts to the issuing of a false receipt,” remarked Mr. Justice Herdman, in the Supreme Court, when the former manager of a life insurance company admitted that jt was a common practice for. agents, in writing business, to issue receipts in full for premium money not fully paid. Witness said this was done to enable agents to draw their commission, and added that the practice was in force in Australia and New Zealand. “1 am surprised to hear it,” said the judge.
